  19. What I am telling you, is that from some sites, ANY Amiga web browser will
  20. get very slow transfer rates, on the order of a packet a min, whereas any
  21. other browser on any other system will get normal transfer rates.

  23. This is _not_ a function of site load, or a bad network connection somewhere,
  24. because:
  25.  
  26. 1) Hit the site with the Amiga, while DL-ing, hit the site with a non-Amiga
  27. *at the same time* and watch the page DL on the non-Amiga at normal rates.
  28.  
  29. 2) Hit the site with the Amiga, ping the same server from the Amiga, note
  30. that ping times are fine.
  31.  
  32. 3) Hit the site at any given time of day, watch the same slow Amiga
  33. performance, watch the same fast non-Amiga performance.
  34.  
  35. Believe me, I have tried everything I could to try and isolate where the
  36. problem lies, and the answer is - there is something about Amiga web browsers
  37. that throttles packet transfers from some sites.

  39. Here's 2 to try http://www.vv.com/ and http://www.interquote.com/
  40.  
  41. Try them out with an Amiga, then try them with any other machine, and note
  42. the difference.

  44. BTW, this behaviour exists with AMosaic, Ibrowse, AWeb, and Mindwalker.
